Imation has announced a new model of its slim Apollo Portable Hard Drive that has a fat 500GB drive stuffed inside the case. Despite the fact that the hard drive inside the Apollo has tons of storage, it is still completely powered by the USB port. That means that no batteries or external power is needed making the drive much more portable.

The Apollo drive ships with backup software that will work with both Mac and Windows computers. The software allows for synchronizing the drive to your computer and for automated backups. A blue LED light on the drive flashes when it is in use. The Apollo 500GB drive is available now for $319.99.
