Typically when you think of Lenovo you think of notebook computers aimed at the business user. Lenovo also makes a line of desktop systems that are aimed at business users. Inside China where Lenovo is based it does offer consumer oriented laptop and desktops.

Today Lenovo announced its first consumer desktop computer that will be sold outside of China. The system is called the IdeaCenter K210 and sports some interesting features. The K210 uses VeriFace facial recognition technology to allow an attached webcam to recognize a user’s face and log them into the computer without having to type a password or swipe a finger.

The K210 also features an antibacterial keyboard to help prevent the spread of germs from the keyboard (a major source of germs in the home and office). Lenovo also packs the K210 with Bright Vision technology, which can automatically adjust the brightness of compatible monitors depending on how close to the screen the user is.

The K210 can be optioned with up to Intel Core 2 Quad processors, 4GB of RAM, 500GB of storage and stock graphics are via Intel GMA 3100 integrated graphics. Gamers can upgrade to a better performing Radeon 2600 XT with 512MB of RAM. That card is still woefully underpowered for today’s high-end video games like Crysis or Call of Duty 4. The K210 starts at a price of $379 after a mail-in rebate of an unspecified amount.
