 Noreve iPhone 3G Diamond Case

Over the years, I have seen some strange gadgets that are designed for the exceptionally wealthy geek. Things like cell phones that sell for $17,000 or gold plated iPods. These types of gadgets are meant for only one thing — to show how fabulously wealthy their owners are. Personally, if I were fabulously wealthy I would opt for exotic sports cars.

For the wealthy geek that wants a new iPhone 3G — but feels the need to be sure people understand he could have a much more expensive phone — might want to opt for the Noreve iPhone Diamond leather case. The diamond case retails for $14,990 and is available in 12 different colors.

Motorola Adds Three ROKR Handsets to Line

 Motorola ROKR EM30

Motorola has been unable to duplicate the success it had several years ago with its RAZR handset. Motorola is looking to regain some of its glory and its latest attempt to separate the mobile phone user from their cash is three new ROKR handsets.

The coolest one of the trio is the ROKR EM30. This phone uses Motorola’s ModeShift technology to illuminate the keyboard. When the phone is in music mode the keypad with controls for music are red. When the phone is in talk mode, the handset keys are blue. The EM30 also features a FM receiver built-in with RDS 4 technology for identifying the song and artists being played. The EM30 is also compatible with Windows Media Player 11 and has a 3.5mm headphone jack built-in.

iPhone Nano Coming in Time for Holidays?

by Ethan Zane posted August 4th, 2008 Tags: ,

The geek world waited in anticipation for Apple to announce the 3G iPhone this summer and now that it is here (and sold out in most places), geeks are on to the next round of speculation about coming Apple products. According to Daily Mail in the UK, a source has told it that another iPhone will be coming in time for holiday shopping.

The product is rumored to be an iPhone Nano. This is not a new rumor; many had a smaller iPhone pegged to be launching with the iPhone 3G this summer. That failed to materialize so now rumors point to a launch in time for the holiday shopping season.

 Nokia N96

Cell phones are one of the most common electronic devices that people carry with them. Smartphones and other feature rich handsets are fast taking over the cell phone market as consumers look for devices that can do more and offer entertainment on the go.

Research firm IDC has released its rankings of the top five cell phone makers for Q2 2008 along with some information on the cellular market as a whole for Q2 2008. IDC says that the worldwide cell phone market grew by 15.3% in Q2 2008 compared to Q2 2007. Total handset shipments in Q2 2008 were 306 million units compared to 265.4 million shipped in Q2 2007.

 Chinavision iPhone Battery Case

I have said on several occasions that I really like my iPhone, but the battery life isn’t that great. Now that I can get games on my phone, the battery life is even worse. Spend an hour or so playing a game and half the battery is gone in a flash.

Chinavision has a new iPhone case that has a rechargeable battery built into the case. The battery in the case charged via the Apple charger that came with your iPhone. An adapter cable is included that turns the iPhone connector into a mini USB from the looks of it.

 iSkin revo2 iPhone 3G case

One of the first things I bought when I got my original iPhone was a case to protect it from scratches and impacts. The new shape of the iPhone 3G means that those upgrading from the original iPhone will need a new case.

iSkin announces that its revo2 case is now available for the iPhone 3G. The case looks cool and promises to protect the iPhone 3G from shock, scratches, dirt, dust, and moisture. The revo2 also integrates Microban antimicrobial protection to kill germs.

Stephen King’s Short Story “N.” Coming to Small Screen

 Stephen King

Stephen King is an undisputed literary master in many circles and one of the bestselling authors in the world and let’s face it the dude is a bit weird to boot. I remember my first exposure to his work when I was a kid with the original film “The Shining” with Jack Nicholson. That movie scared the hell lout of me, as it would with most 7 year old kids. Over the years I have found that most movies based on King’s work aren’t nearly as good as the early stuff. King also tries all sorts of formats for his work from theatrical movies, to serial novels, to magazines and even TV shows.

King is now looking to conquer one of the last mediums for his work around, the small screen of your PC or cell phone. King has teamed up with Scribner, Simon & Schuster Digital, Marvel entertainment, and CBS Mobile for a comic book style adaptation of a original and previously unpublished short story called “N.”. The story will be in the form of serialized video clips each 2 minutes long. The first segment of the series will debut July 28 and new segments will be offered 5 days per week until August 29.

Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman Phone is Packed with Features

by Ethan Zane posted July 23rd, 2008 Tags: ,
 Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman Phone

I was a kid in the 1980’s and when you say the word Walkman to me it still conjures up images of big, yellow “portable” cassette tape players that I used to see people wearing when they power walked around my neighborhood with those white socks with the stripes pulled up around their knees. It’s hard to get the image out of my mind even though the cassette tape is as defunct as HD DVD.

The latest product in the Walkman line is thankfully not bright yellow and can’t play cassette tapes. It’s a new music phone from Sony Ericsson called the W902 Walkman phone. The phone includes an 8GB Memory Stick card for storing tracks, which is enough space for around 8000 songs on average.

Monster Announces Price and Ship Date for Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

When it comes to headphones there are lots of differ products to choose from. Of all the headphones of various styles that I have ever used, they tend to always have one thing in common—lack of bass. Monster announced a set of headphones at CES back in January called Beats by Dr. Dre that promised to bring new technology and a new level of sound quality to consumer earphones.

At CES Monster didn’t give a clear idea of when the headphones would be available, but it did say they would retail for slightly under $400. That price is a serious chunk of change for headphones. Monster has announced that the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones will be available starting July 25 at the Apple store, Best Buy and from Beatsbydre.com.

 Sony Ericsson T303 Handset

Cell phones and smartphones are certainly hot right now. One of the hottest devices on the market is the new iPhone 3G. Many users aren’t interested in the iPhone 3G because they aren’t with AT&T or just don’t want a touchscreen device.

A new handset from Sony Ericsson is now available called the T303. The T303 uses a slider design and has some cool features built-in. The screen for the handset has a LG Shine-like mirror finish and the phone’s housing is made from metal.
