Whether you live in a big city and simply don’t have the space or inclination to own a car, or you’re simply looking for alternative transportation that doesn’t pollute the environment — walking or biking are probably high on your list of ways to get around. However, there’s always going to be some point when you don’t feel like walking and you don’t feel like pedaling a bike around. For these times, you need something like the new A2B Electric Bike by Ultra Motor. I’ll say right off the bat that the bike is odd looking to my eyes. It uses mountain bike style suspension and upright riding position with an oversized seat for comfort. A small tray that sticks out from behind the bike, under the seat, and can be used for stowing computers or other items that are small. The bike has pedals that can be used if it runs out of battery power or to increase the cruise speed, but the pedals are not needed for normal operation. |
Memorex Announces Two Alarm Clocks for the iPod

As technology marches on, even our alarm clocks are becoming feature laden. It seems like every other alarm clock that comes out today has an iPod dock for charging the iPod and playing music from it. The good part is that you can often wake to your own music. Waking to iPod music is much better than waking up to an annoying buzzer or a fuzzy radio station. The pair of new alarm clocks from Memorex both feature iPod docks and can wake you to tunes from the iPod, AM/FM radio and the dreaded buzzer. The basic Mi4019 clock has a snooze function and comes in pink, black, and white colors. |

Convergence has never been more apparent in the computer world than it gets for USB devices. I have seen some odd things that are designed for a multitude of strange uses over the years. Boynq has a new device called the Iris that rolls three items into one package that looks a lot like the lamp that crushes the “I” in the Pixar logo. The Iris has a one-piece speaker, LED light, and webcam rolled into one device. The webcam has a mic as well and uses a VGA CMOS lens. Around the webcam are a 5W RMS speaker and eight LED lights for lighting up your desk or the face of the person doing the web chatting. |

I hate when I am running around and realizing my phone is about to go dead. It’s even worse if I am travelling on an airline and realize my gadgets don’t have enough juice for the entire flight. Duracell has a new gadget called the PowerSource mini that can fix this problem. The PowerSource Mini is available in two versions with one having a connector for the iPod and the other having a connector for BlackBerry devices. Both of the versions also have a USB port and a swing-out mini USB port on an arm. |
Sony Reader Digital Book Gets Support for New Format

I like to read, but the sorts of books I like don’t typically end up as eBooks that you can buy for readers like the Sony PRS-505. I am partial to action books and sci-fi and it always seems that only the mass appeal books end up in digital formats to me. Sony has announced that its Reader Digital Book will become the first digital reader to support the new EPUB format starting next month. Sony’s PRS-505 will get the upgrade allowing it to read EPUB XML-based format becoming popular with some publishers. |
Monster Announces Price and Ship Date for Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

When it comes to headphones there are lots of differ products to choose from. Of all the headphones of various styles that I have ever used, they tend to always have one thing in common—lack of bass. Monster announced a set of headphones at CES back in January called Beats by Dr. Dre that promised to bring new technology and a new level of sound quality to consumer earphones. At CES Monster didn’t give a clear idea of when the headphones would be available, but it did say they would retail for slightly under $400. That price is a serious chunk of change for headphones. Monster has announced that the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones will be available starting July 25 at the Apple store, Best Buy and from Beatsbydre.com. |

Some users don’t need a fully fledged notebook computer for their daily tasks. For the user who only surfs the Internet, watches the occasional video and listens to music a small netbook like the ASUS Eee may be just what they need. The ASUS Eee has spawned a plethora of similar systems competing for the low price, portable netbook market and Acer introduced its Aspire One netbook a while back just for this market. Acer announced that the One is now available for purchase in America. |

Alarm clocks are something that most people have to deal with. If you are like me, you are probably rocking the same old clock radio you have had since college. If you are worse than me your alarm clock may have those mechanical numbers. Either way it’s time for an upgrade and Philips has your new clock. The Philips AJL305/05 clock radio uses a cool bar style and has five 1.5-inch diagonal LCD CSTN screens rocking a 128 x 128 pixel resolution. The displays show five photos at a time and you can record voice messages for family members. The images can be rotated in a slideshow. |

Flash drives all tend to be pretty similar and not all that attractive. You can get some small drives that are very portable, but they tend to give up storage space for the small size. Super Talent has announced a new flash drive that is cool looking and has lots of storage. The drive is called the PICO-C Gold and is covered in 24-carat gold plate and includes a sturdy gold chain to hang it from. The drive is small at 31.3mm x 12.4mm x 3,4mm but pack sin 8GB of storage.
