Whether you live in a big city and simply don’t have the space or inclination to own a car, or you’re simply looking for alternative transportation that doesn’t pollute the environment — walking or biking are probably high on your list of ways to get around. However, there’s always going to be some point when you don’t feel like walking and you don’t feel like pedaling a bike around. For these times, you need something like the new A2B Electric Bike by Ultra Motor. I’ll say right off the bat that the bike is odd looking to my eyes. It uses mountain bike style suspension and upright riding position with an oversized seat for comfort. A small tray that sticks out from behind the bike, under the seat, and can be used for stowing computers or other items that are small. The bike has pedals that can be used if it runs out of battery power or to increase the cruise speed, but the pedals are not needed for normal operation. |

I am not much of a music fan. I like music well enough in the car or on long flights, but in my home, I don’t generally listen to music. Some people I know always have music playing in their homes, even when they are watching TV or movies. If you are one of the types who always have music, playing in the home Sonos introduced a pair of new network music players that will send music all around your home wirelessly. Sonos has introduced the second generation of its network music players and a new dual room bundle. The bundle is called the BU150 and the new players include the ZP120 and ZP90. |
Toyota Unveils Winglet Mobility Robot

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced today that it was developing what it calls a Personal Transport Assistance Robot known as Winglet. TMC says that it is still in the process of refining the Winglet and it plans the device to be a small and compact robot that will offer ease of movement and expand a user’s range of mobility. I can’t tell from that description if it intends the Winglet to be a scooter for the masses to use rather than a car, or if this is one sort of assistance device for those with problems walking like the elderly. At any rate, TMC has created three different Winglet models that only vary in how tall they are. The height difference for the models is from the different length handles used that give riders something to grasp. |
Gears of War Set to Become a Big Screen Movie

Today the amount of money generated by a top flight video game can easily outclass the money made by a theatrical movie release. The video game industry is also set to keep booming and in an “if you can’t beat them, joint them” move many video games are becoming movies. The sad fact is that many movies based on video games just plain suck. I’m talking to you Doom. According to CrunchGear a movie based on the hit video game Gears of War has received the financing it needs to move ahead. Legendary Pictures and New Line are said to be co-financing the film. Legendary Pictures was one of the financial backers for the “Dark Knight” in theaters right now. |

One of the most loathed things about flying today, besides having to take off your shoes to go through a checkpoint, is having to remember to remove your laptop from your laptop bag. If you forget to do it, it’s an even bigger hassle as you are forced to the side where a security person sweeps your computer for bombs and everyone else in line looks at you like you are a dumb ass. One day we won’t have to take off our shoes anymore and laptop bags and sleeves to make checkpoints easier are coming really soon. In fact, Briggs & Riley says that it will be the first company to release a Travel Sentry Approved checkpoint friendly laptop sleeve onto the market. The new sleeves are due on August 15 and when using them you no longer have to take your notebook out and put it on a bin at the checkpoint. |
Stephen King’s Short Story “N.” Coming to Small Screen
| by Shane McGlaun posted July 25th, 2008 | Tags: Stephen King |

Stephen King is an undisputed literary master in many circles and one of the bestselling authors in the world and let’s face it the dude is a bit weird to boot. I remember my first exposure to his work when I was a kid with the original film “The Shining” with Jack Nicholson. That movie scared the hell lout of me, as it would with most 7 year old kids. Over the years I have found that most movies based on King’s work aren’t nearly as good as the early stuff. King also tries all sorts of formats for his work from theatrical movies, to serial novels, to magazines and even TV shows. King is now looking to conquer one of the last mediums for his work around, the small screen of your PC or cell phone. King has teamed up with Scribner, Simon & Schuster Digital, Marvel entertainment, and CBS Mobile for a comic book style adaptation of a original and previously unpublished short story called “N.”. The story will be in the form of serialized video clips each 2 minutes long. The first segment of the series will debut July 28 and new segments will be offered 5 days per week until August 29. |
Monster Announces Price and Ship Date for Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

When it comes to headphones there are lots of differ products to choose from. Of all the headphones of various styles that I have ever used, they tend to always have one thing in common—lack of bass. Monster announced a set of headphones at CES back in January called Beats by Dr. Dre that promised to bring new technology and a new level of sound quality to consumer earphones. At CES Monster didn’t give a clear idea of when the headphones would be available, but it did say they would retail for slightly under $400. That price is a serious chunk of change for headphones. Monster has announced that the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones will be available starting July 25 at the Apple store, Best Buy and from Beatsbydre.com. |

Alarm clocks are something that most people have to deal with. If you are like me, you are probably rocking the same old clock radio you have had since college. If you are worse than me your alarm clock may have those mechanical numbers. Either way it’s time for an upgrade and Philips has your new clock. The Philips AJL305/05 clock radio uses a cool bar style and has five 1.5-inch diagonal LCD CSTN screens rocking a 128 x 128 pixel resolution. The displays show five photos at a time and you can record voice messages for family members. The images can be rotated in a slideshow. |

Flash drives all tend to be pretty similar and not all that attractive. You can get some small drives that are very portable, but they tend to give up storage space for the small size. Super Talent has announced a new flash drive that is cool looking and has lots of storage. The drive is called the PICO-C Gold and is covered in 24-carat gold plate and includes a sturdy gold chain to hang it from. The drive is small at 31.3mm x 12.4mm x 3,4mm but pack sin 8GB of storage. Lots of the most popular digital audio players and smartphones that are being sold today come with expansion slots for microSD/SDHC cards. Memory expansion is one of the biggest features users look for in their devices. The Creative ZEN X-Fi released yesterday features expandable memory as an example. To provide users with more storage capacity Kingston has announced a new addition to its line of memory products for mobile devices. The Kingston 8GB microSDHC card has enough storage for 1500 songs, 4000 images or up to 8 hours of digital video. |
