 Madden NFL 09

Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of sports games on the PC or consoles. I have always leaned more towards games that had stuff that you can do in real life — like shooting zombies or racing cars at 250 miles an hour downtown with cops chasing you. Despite my gaming preferences EA’s Madden NFL is one of the biggest franchises of any type ever hit a game console.

Today marks the launch of EA’s Madden NFL 09, and this year’s version marks the 20-year anniversary of the Madden NFL franchise. EA says that the Madden NFL 09 assesses your skills and adjusts the gameplay to keep the experience fun and challenging as you get better. The constantly adjusting difficulty also means that the veteran players can play with the inexperienced without new players getting spanked too badly.

 The Sims 2 Store

It may be difficult for the hard core gamers among us to fathom that one of the most popular and best selling game franchise around is The Sims from EA. The casual game has sold more copies than most games ever dream of. I have played The Sims before, and even reviewed the recent title The Sims Castaway Stories for Computer Shopper and found it to be a fun game.

As such a popular game the number of expansion packs is huge and most of them center on stuff that you can add to your Sim characters home. With so much available in expansion packs EA has decided to make getting new stuff for your Sims characters easier with a new online store called The Sims 2 Store. The store is in beta form now, but allows gamers to shop for items offered in all the expansion packs and exclusive items to buy.
